Melina Mercouri

Melina Mercouri was a Greek actress, singer, and politician who won the Best Actress award at Cannes for the film 'Never on Sunday'. She served as Greece's first female Minister of Culture and is renowned for her campaign to return the Parthenon Marbles. She also established the European Capital of Culture initiative.
