Amarcord

The elegant lady in red is the object of universal desire and admiration. A busty tobacconist who reigns in the fantasies of teenage boys. These and many other wonderful episodes resurrect the memory of the legendary master of cinema and come to life on the screen to show us the ghostly world of the past through the eyes of a growing fifteen-year-old teenager. "Amarcord" means "I remember" in the Romagnol dialect of the resort town of Rimini, where Fellini grew up. The action of this nostalgic picture takes place in the Italian provinces in the 30s of the 20th century during the fascist dictatorship of Mussolini. Hormones are surging through the young bodies of teenagers. Family, church and friendship are the unshakable foundations of the everyday life of city residents. Giant portraits of the great Duce are hung on the streets. Sex reigns on every corner. And the life that is shown in the local cinema is taken as the standard of real life.
