The plot tells the story of the life of seventeen-year-old Joshua Cody, who, after the death of his mother, moves to a city in Southern California. The head of the family, Janine Cody, runs the family business. She is helped in everything by her assistant Pope, Cody's older brother. The other sons try to help whenever possible.
