April's Daughters

17-year-old Valeria lives with her half-sister Clara in the Mexican town of Puerto Vallarta on the seashore. Valeria is pregnant by her friend Mateo and hides it from her mother. She is clearly an infrequent guest in her daughters’ house. But Clara lets slip on the phone about her sister’s condition, and her mother, a broken divorcee from Mexico City, Abril, shows up on the doorstep. First of all, after Valeria gives birth, she forces Mateo's parents to sign an agreement to adopt the newborn girl. And then Abril leaves for Mexico City, taking with her not only her granddaughter, but also her daughter’s boyfriend.
