Avalanche

Pianist Mesyatsev, a talented musician and a devoted family man, unexpectedly falls in love with a young woman. She is free, beautiful, independent and reciprocates his feelings. It seems to Mesyatsev that the passion that united them, which, like an avalanche, sweeps away everything in its path, is not a tribute to a “midlife crisis,” but a real great feeling. But he was cruelly deceived. His former family and everything that was so dear turns out to be “buried under an avalanche”; his eighteen-year-old son becomes a drug addict and dies. Mesyatsev loses interest in life. Everything that seemed important to him now has no meaning. He wants nothing more: neither to love, nor to play.
