Daniil is a magazine editor, his wife Elena is a translator by training. They got married immediately after graduating from university. Soon after their wedding, Daniel's mother dies in a terrible accident, and his father becomes disabled. Elena devotes herself to caring for her father-in-law and his rehabilitation. Completely immersed in worries, she does not notice that her husband is increasingly late at work. Most of the employees and the daughter of the head of the publishing house are in love with the successful and young Daniil; Irina is no exception. Daniel reciprocates her feelings. After some time, Irina announces that she is expecting a child. Lena finds out that her husband is cheating on her and his mistress is pregnant. She decides to leave her husband and get a job. But without experience, finding a job is very difficult. Her search for work leads her to Nikolai Egorov’s company, where she will have to relearn how to build her life and career. Elena’s decency, responsiveness and kindness cannot go unnoticed, and difficulties and sorrows must recede.
