Peg Dahl dreams of escaping her native Buffalo and going to study at a prestigious university. The realization that she can't pay her tuition forces Peg to get involved in the dangerous and difficult business of debt collection. It soon becomes clear that Peg has real talent, and she has very likely found her true calling in life.
