Moscow, 1978, the eve of the Olympic Games. In the Soviet Union, several cases of fraud were registered, the victims of which were women “of social standing.” The victims describe the characteristics of the criminal in the same way: a charming, intelligent middle-aged man who easily gains confidence. After the suicide attempt of the deputy chairman of the district executive committee, police captain Shmakov and senior police lieutenant Polina Novgorodtseva take over the investigation of the high-profile case. The complicated case turns into a personal drama when Casanova learns that Moscow investigators are on his heels.
