Vika, a teenage girl from a single-parent family yearning for independence, observes life outside the windows of the neighboring house from the roof of her Khrushchev-era apartment building through the viewfinder of her camera. By chance, her camera lens catches a love scene between Zoya, a career-successful but lonely middle-aged woman, and her married neighbor. Vika comes up with a “brilliant” idea - to blackmail Zoya’s lover. But he quickly exposes the blackmailer, and, frightened by the publicity, abandons Zoya. Gradually the girls get closer, and Vika persuades her new acquaintance to take revenge on her former lover. The girlfriends get the hang of it, revenge takes on criminal proportions. Zoya and Vika will never be the same again...
