A story about the last, Viennese period of the life of Count Jacob Frank, who in the second half of the eighteenth century arrived in Poland and declared himself the messiah. Using apocalyptic sentiments, both in the Jewish public and partly in the church hierarchy, he caused the conversion to Catholicism of several hundred of his followers, who, after the death of their master, became part of the upper strata of Polish society.
