Publisher Valery Kudryavtsev almost accidentally ends up in a secular salon, where a visiting medium - the dazzling Lydia Romanovskaya-Beauharnais - is giving a session of spiritualism. During the session, the skeptic Kudryavtsev suddenly sees the division general of Napoleon's army, Eugene Beauharnais. It will be a vision as bright as a flash - and from that moment Kudryavtsev’s life for several days will turn into a continuous adventure: into a detective story and a thriller at the same time. Events around him will turn into an ominous carousel. And he will need a lot of endurance and will to withstand everything that befalls him these days. He does not yet know that his today is inextricably linked with yesterday. It all started in 1812 - with the Battle of Borodino and from the night when the French divisional general Eugene Beauharnais, having spent the night in the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery near Zvenigorod, saw in his cell the founder of this monastery, the Monk Savva, who died 400 years before these events. Savva that night asked Beauharnais not to destroy the monastery, and promised that then he would return to his homeland safe and sound. Beauharnais obeyed - and what Savva predicted happened to him. After Savva left his cell, an icon remained in the place where he stood, which Beauharnais found and took with him. And from this time begins the amazing story of an immortal historical relic, which influenced everyone who owned it. Valery Kudryavtsev began to understand that his life was now also closely connected with the mysterious icon only when he found himself captive of terrible, unthinkable events. He is betrayed by his best friend, he is accused of murder, he has to hide and act to solve many problems. He must save his daughter, defend his name, find the Beauharnais icon, which in a strange, mystical way connects the events of the past and present. For the sake of this icon, very serious people lie, betray, kill, because they see only money in it. But the Holy Icon has a completely different price. Her name is Love. And our hero will eventually understand this. The history of the “Icon of Beauharnais” is a small reflection of the history of Russia. When people, having forgotten about God, are chasing millions, they can only be saved by the moment when, stopping, they ask themselves: why? No material wealth in the world can replace one holy icon in the most important moment of a person’s life. The film takes place in parallel: modernity and historical events - from the Battle of Borodino to the terrible 1937. Everyone who, in one way or another, was associated with the Beauharnais icon will receive their due: from Great Love to inevitable disaster. Depending on what exactly a person wants to gain by touching the eternal, pure and holy.
