Laura Ash, participating in a jewelry theft, deceives her accomplices and flees to Paris. There she encounters a girl similar to her who commits suicide. Laura decides to take advantage of the situation and pass off the deceased as herself, and herself as her. She succeeds, but seven years later she returns to Paris under the name Lily Watts, now as the wife of the new US Ambassador to France. However, her former accomplices continue to search for the stolen jewelry...
