The first season of the series focuses on the Harmon family, who move from Boston to Los Angeles to start a new life, and settle into an old restored mansion, not realizing that its previous residents never found peace after death. The second season tells a completely different story - the action unfolds around a journalist who came to a mental hospital for the mentally ill in hopes of filming a report about the newly arrived maniac “Bloody Face”, who was mercilessly killing random women. The third season is about a coven of witches, disguised as an elite boarding house for “gifted” girls, which is trying to protect the last representatives of this species from extinction. The plot of the fourth season revolves around one of the last "Circus of Freaks" in the 1950s. The events of the fifth season take place in a large, forgotten hotel in central Los Angeles. This hotel hides many secrets within its walls.
