Ben has a wife and two small daughters, he is about to publish a novel - and is terribly bored living his calm and orderly life. The writer becomes a teacher at the university; he shares his passion for Chekhov with Mercedes, one of the students. A beautiful young woman, misunderstood by her lover, she does not hesitate to flirt with the teacher. Ben resists for a moment before succumbing to her charms. But he soon becomes obsessed with his student, wanting to live life to the fullest, returning to life next to her.
