Long Live Shishlov

The film takes place in the 20s in the village of Ptyunki. Here the young communist Ivan Shishlov, a semi-literate man passionate about the idea of ​​a socialist commune, is trying to organize public life. Life, subject to the logic of this soulless person, turns into hell for many. His excessive efforts lead to the tragic death of land surveyor Alevtina Batyunina, a principled and honest woman. In the end, having admitted his mistakes, the civil war fighter Shishlov decides to openly commit suicide...
