Love on Trial
2013Pavel, a 35-year-old widower, is raising two children alone: Lucy, eight years old, and Petya, four years old. Pavel keeps an apiary in the village, and constant employment does not allow him to pay enough attention to his children. When inspectors from the children's service are about to take Petya and Lucy to a boarding school, Pavel makes a radical decision. He places an ad in the newspaper saying he needs a wife who can look after his children. A woman the same age as Pavel, the librarian Natalya, a lonely woman with a huge reserve of unspent tenderness, responds to the ad. Pavel accepts Natalya into the family for a trial period. He still has not recovered from the death of his wife and has difficulty reconciling the appearance of a new woman in his house. Natalya has a hard time coping with Pavel’s childhood jealousy and wary attitude towards her. And Pavel’s friend, the village paramedic Zoya, is hatching plans to get the enviable village guy in trouble. Pavel is no longer happy with his idea, but it’s too late to retreat...
