Mid-70s America. The main character, Scott Bartlett is an average teenager, a fan of Star Wars and quietly withering with love for his neighbor Adrianna. The sudden and rapidly spreading Lyme disease epidemic makes its own adjustments to the measured life of a quiet suburb. There is a real paranoia in America. One of the victims of the epidemic is Adrianna’s family. Her father is forced by illness to leave his job. To support the family, Adrianna’s mother gets a job at the firm of Scott’s father, and an affair breaks out between them, which finally burys the chances that everything will eventually somehow form on its own.
