Malady of Love

Provincial Juliette, who came to Paris “to seek happiness,” works in a prestigious beauty salon. One of the clients, the prominent surgeon Raoul Bergeron, takes notice of her and offers to live with him. Juliette agrees. However, as a result of a coincidence, she meets his subordinate, promising trainee Clément Potrel. Succumbing to a sudden passion, Juliette leaves the city with him. Potrel opens a private practice in the village, but does not see any self-realization in this. Juliette, quickly realizing that only Bergeron is capable of promoting Potrel's successful career, returns to him. But soon doctors discover she has a disease against which medicine is powerless.
