Myths of My Childhood
2005About the movie
The film takes place in a small village on the shores of the Azov Sea in the early 1960s. Teenagers passionately dream of love, which they still know only from the stories of “experienced” people. 16-year-old Ignat is the first to recognize the real feeling. His love for a beautiful adventuress posing as a metropolitan singer becomes destructive. Local legends and myths associated with the cult of ancient settlements are woven into the fabric of the film. Three thousand years ago, on the site of this seaside village there was an altar to the pagan Goddess of Death, and local residents still believe that every hundred years she returns here for new victims.
