Two small friendly companies: three women and three men gathered to gossip. Men, as usual, talked about women, women, of course, about men. The subtlety was that both ladies and gentlemen told each other the same stories. “Peaches” from their point of view, and “peppers” from theirs. Crazy flirtations, complex intrigues, love adventures, funny and not so funny, looked completely different in men's and women's presentations. Who is the hunter and who is the prey? Who is the initiator of love affairs and who is the victim? The answers to these questions in each case were diametrically opposed. Charming seductresses and noble nobles imposingly talk about high morality, about beauty, about nature, at the same time they do not forget to embody their momentary lustful impulses. But each of them's history of lust puts them on par with each other. And the “dear friend”, and the count, and all three ladies - all of them, through the intertwining of destinies, become bright characters in this complex, intriguing almanac.
