A film is being filmed in the film studio pavilion: a suicide scene is being filmed. Screenwriter Kirill Medvedev, making fun of the actor's performance, takes a pistol from the props and shoots a bullet into his forehead - the weapon was not fake. A task force headed by Sergei Meleshin, a friend of the deceased screenwriter, goes to the crime scene.
