Having stolen a large sum of money from her boss, Marion Crane goes on the run. Finding herself on a deserted highway late at night, she decides to rest at a roadside motel owned by a strange man named Norman Bates and his mysterious mother. This night becomes the last for the girl. Her sister and a private detective go in search of Marion.
