Senior investigator for particularly important cases Nina Nesterova, who has solved more than one high-profile case, invites provincial investigator Nikita Komarov to go to work in Moscow and join the investigation of a fire in a nightclub. Nina believes that a major businessman, a member of one of the political parties, Boris Bobrov, is involved in the case. She entrusts Nikita with confirming this assumption and finding evidence. During the investigation, Komarov's fiancée Lara is kidnapped, and these facts can no longer be considered a mere coincidence.
