In the mid-70s, the National Basketball Association left no chance for the American Basketball Association, and it was decided to abolish the latter. Only the top four teams in the dying days of the ABA had the opportunity to enter the NBA, and the Flint Tropics were certainly not one of them. However, the owner of the worst team in the league (as well as its player-coach) Jackie Moon does not lose hope: he plans to bring his team from last place in the standings to fourth, which gives access to the NBA. Bringing to life his adventurous, if not crazy, plan, Moon enlists the support of an out-of-print star and tries to inspire his team to the greatest feat in its history.
