Shadows over the Balkans

1928, the defeated Russian tsarist army led by General Wrangel found refuge in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, a country that would be called Yugoslavia just a year later. Hopes for the revival of the Russian monarchy are linked to the Crown Treasures hidden in a church in Belgrade. And then one day the treasures are stolen, killing a priest of the Orthodox Church. The murder investigation, the Macedonian separatists' struggle for independence, the opium trade, the intrigues of the Soviet OGPU and the Thule society, attempts to blackmail the head of the Kingdom's Security Service, the search for the spear of Destiny and the fate of an ordinary Belgrade police investigator are tied into one tight ball.
