She-Wolf

Kacper learns that his wife Marina is dying. She curses her husband and refuses to accept the crucifix, instead of which she clutches a wolf’s paw in her hands. Soon Marina dies and Kacper and his brother Mateusz are taken to bury her on a sleigh. But the sleigh gets stuck in a snowdrift and cannot go any further. Then Mateus goes to the nearest bush, breaks a branch and makes a stake out of it. He then drives a stake through Marina's heart and buries her, while Kacper leaves. Two years later, Kacper serves with the count, a participant in the Polish national liberation movement. One day it turns out that they want to arrest the count, then Kacper arranges for him to escape, and he himself, on the count’s orders, returns to the house and keeps order. In addition to Kacper, in the mansion there is Julia, the count’s wife, who, however, despises her husband. She bears an unusual resemblance to Mateusz's deceased wife, Marina, and this arouses his suspicions.
