The Baby of Mâcon

17th century Theater. A drama is played out before the public about how, in times of unrest and famine, an elderly woman gives birth to a wonderful child, although many expect the birth of a monster. The newborn boy is so handsome that he is declared a holy, miraculous child. Passions flare up around him; and the church and family use it to achieve their goals. And gradually the boundaries between performance and reality are blurred.
