The Bodyguard

Alexander Sokolov, the 1988 Olympic boxing champion, is now a domestic alcoholic working as a cloakroom attendant in a luxury Moscow restaurant. The life of Sokolov, who was used to taking a punch in the ring and had never been knocked out, went downhill after the tragic death of his wife and 15-year-old daughter, when a drunken freak crashed into the car donated to him by the Olympic Committee. The owner of the restaurant and Sokolov’s employer, Oleg Morozov, also a former boxer who started with the great Sanya, but did not conquer such heights, literally saved Sokolov from the abyss into which he was heading. Morozov remembered the idol of his youth as a simple, handsome guy, and now he found him, took him in, giving him the opportunity to earn tips and forgiving the periodic attacks of melancholy with week-long binges.
