The Great Beauty

Aristocrats, nouveau riche, politicians, high-flying criminals, journalists, actors, decadent scions of noble families, priests, artists, real or imaginary intellectuals... All of them are swallowed up by modern Babylon, while they weave the fabric of fragile relationships, indulging in the hustle and bustle of life against the backdrop of ancient palaces, huge villas and magnificent terraces. They are all here, and no one is presented in a favorable light. Apathetic and disillusioned, 65-year-old Jep Gambardella, a writer and journalist, watches this parade of powerful, but empty and lost people, who make a depressing impression on him, with a glass of gin and tonic.
