The Sandpiper

Laura Reynolds is an artist, adheres to modern views, leads a bohemian lifestyle and independently raises her son Danny. However, the Department of Childcare insists that Laura stop her teaching experiments and put her son in the care of the state. The young mother does her own thing. Instead of sending Danny to public school, she enrolls her son in a private academy run by Dr. Edward Hewitt. At first, the doctor is shocked by Laura’s views on life, free love and a moral code, but time passes and the more he gets to know her, the more he flares up a feeling of love for this extraordinary woman. An all-consuming passion for Laura turns a respectable family man and father of two children into a mad lover for whom the whole past life is forgotten and crossed out.
