Unsuccessful playwright Enrico Moroni suffers another failure with his new play, in which his wife Solange, as always, played the main role. And it seems that this was his last failure, because the lawyer Manette, who sponsored Enrico’s work, now intends to present a bill for his investments. But while the bailiffs are taking furniture out of the hapless author’s house, a charming dark-skinned girl appears in it, ready to help with the housework for a very modest fee (or even without it at all). Enrico would be glad if his beloved wife intervened. After all, the new maid’s name is Tesoro (Darling), and Solange is used to her husband calling only her by this word. But there is no choice, because the former maid left her suddenly bankrupt owners. Meanwhile, Moroni decided to write a new play, which, of course, should create a real sensation. But he didn’t even suspect that one night someone would make radical changes to this play...
