Comic book artist Colin Childress, locked in the basement of his house, draws innocent horror comics, inspired by a Necronomicon-like book with a pentagram, and by mistake summons a hefty monster into the real world in order to somehow deal with it. Colin decides to burn all his drawings, on the one hand it helped, but on the other hand, he himself burned down along with the monster. 30 years later, a young artist Whitney Taylor comes to this ill-fated house, she is a big fan of the work of Colin Childress, and asks the landlady Mrs. Briggs to be allowed to draw comics in the basement where Childress died 30 years ago, having found the ill-fated book in the basement, Whitney makes the same mistake that Colin once did, she also releases the monster to freedom, putting her life and the lives of her household at risk into great danger.
