Entrepreneurial New York typist Tess McGill dreams of a dizzying career. But there is a serious obstacle on the way to realizing her dream. She doesn’t know how to dress, cut her hair, or communicate with the right people. But every person is given a chance to arrange their life. Mac Gill was given the same chance, given the chance to act as a senior executive when her boss broke her leg while vacationing in Europe. Tess immediately takes her place, meets the stockbroker and makes a big deal. When the rested and recovered boss returns to work, she realizes that her place is taken, her fiancé has left for someone else, and there are a million other small troubles.
