19-year-old Egor Chudinov goes in search of his parents who disappeared during an ethnographic expedition in the Perm region. Together with his uncle Nikolai and two random companions - philology students Tanya and Nadya - Egor moves deeper into the territory, which lives according to its own laws and traditions. Here the nature is gloomy, here hermits live in dugouts, and illnesses are treated by sorcerers, and somewhere among the dense forests a bear shaman wanders. At first, Yegor is skeptical about the stories about the ancient creatures of Komi-Permyak mythology that can live in these parts, but he gradually realizes that the world is much wider than his ideas. With every day and with every risky adventure, Yegor receives signs to stop and not cross the line. But the desire to find his relatives and unravel the secret of the past that has long tormented him turns out to be stronger.
