A writer writes a book. Its hero is a young journalist, who is also the hero of the film. The writer writes, and the character, obeying his will, exists according to the laws predetermined by the author, and, like a doll, finds himself in situations that are imaginary and inexplicable to the writer himself. The writer doesn’t quite understand what to do with his literary hero. He comes up with traditional trials for him in our time: prison, unemployment, loss of his beloved, persecution by bandits, difficult relationships with his mother. And the hero faces an absurd death under the wheels of the writer’s own car. The character obediently, like a doll, does everything suggested by the author...
