Antoine Carco is the owner of the famous Parisian cabaret with striptease. He leads the measured life of a rich man, but everything changes after a call from his old friend, who, dying, asks Antoine to go to Hong Kong, find a certain boy there and deliver him to his mother in Paris, and at the same time bring a large sum of money. Antoine agrees, but in Hong Kong the Chinese mafia begins to hunt him, so he has to smuggle out the boy and the money with the help of the priest Hervé Taren, who is accompanying a group of children from the orphanage. Upon arrival in France, Carco keeps the money for himself, and sends the boy to an orphanage, for which the priest curses him. Now life for Antoine turns into a living hell, as his conscience in the form of a guardian angel begins to haunt him.
