A talented employee of the Department of Psychology, Ulyana Sinitsyna, is not allowed to defend her doctorate because of a “dubious” topic. She is trying to justify and promote new methods of compiling psychological portraits. To prove her theory in practice, stubborn Ulyana gets a job as a consultant for the police. Her partner, investigator Igor Levin, is skeptical of her ideas until they help in the complicated case of the murder of a ballerina.
