Mario is married to Carla, a wealthy businesswoman. She's going to Geneva for a couple of days, and he's on a date with Monique, a Swedish flight attendant. Carla's flight is cancelled, she's heading home, and is about to catch Mario in the act. Mario is saved by his old school friend Enrico, an unlucky salesman who came to convince Mario to buy a toilet from him so that he would not be fired. Mario signs the order in exchange for Enrico agreeing to marry Monique to his wife. Carla invites them to stay and take part in a business lunch served by Enrico's wife, Matilda. Enrico hides from her all evening, Mario pursues Monique, and Carla wants to make a deal.
