Maggie Gyllenhaal inspects a police officer(1:46)

The film discusses the relationship between human rights and international terrorism. In Beijing, a young American graduate student, Linda, was arrested only because a foreigner travels a lot and even in her dissertation they found a quote from Thomas Jefferson, which the intelligence services take as a critical statement against the Chinese government. Sharif, a Muslim student, has been arrested in America because his passport contains too many stamps of countries with “poor” reputations: Russia, Israel, Libya. Both detainees do not understand why they were detained. Both are interrogated on different sides of the planet according to the same scenario: they are “potential terrorists”
