Candidate for the State Duma from the city of Velikiye Luki, Pyotr Solomatin, arrives in Moscow for work, but is in no hurry to attend the parliamentary meeting. Instead, he intends to retire with his secretary Elizaveta Koshkina in one of the comfortable rooms of an expensive hotel in the center of the capital. The candidate's mating dance is interrupted by a most unpleasant incident: on his balcony, Solomatin discovers the lifeless body of an unknown man, crushed by a window frame. Solomatin decides to hide the body and calls on his faithful assistant Konstantin Vishnevsky for help. Circumstances become even more complicated when it turns out that the body belongs to a detective hired by Koshkina’s husband Vasily in order to catch her with her lover at the crime scene. In the process of unwinding the plot, husbands, wives, mothers and other characters join in the intrigue, entangling the action into an endless tangle of intrigue, which must be unraveled... by a suddenly resurrected detective...
