1961 Mosfilm Studio. One day, a young, talented cameraman, Viktor Khrustalev, was drinking with his screenwriter friend Kostya in the VGIK dorm. It so happened that Kostya fell out of the window and died. After the death of a friend, Victor discovers a script that was not approved at the time, but now it’s just a “bomb.” Now Victor wants to make a film based on this script. At Kostya's funeral, Victor meets with director Yegor Myachin. Soon they participate together in the filming of the film “The Girl and the Foreman.” There is a love line in the picture. Victor and Egor alternately meet with Maryana, a student at the Faculty of Chemistry at Moscow State University, who stars in the film as the main character.
