The beautiful Greek island of Hydra. The beautiful Phaedra earns her living by extracting sponges from the seabed. One day, while diving, a girl stumbles upon a sunken ship and discovers an ancient golden statue of a boy sitting astride a bronze dolphin. Realizing that her find could bring the family a lot of money, Phaedra goes to Athens. There she meets the cunning collector Victor Parmalee and scientist Jim Calder. Both are eager to take a look at the historical value.
