Captivity of Passion

The film is based on the biographical facts of the writer Alexei Maksimovich Gorky and his memories in the last days of his life. The film tells about the women he loved: about his wife Ekaterina Peshkova, with whom he had two children – Maxim and Katya, about his mistress, the approx of the Moscow Art Theater Maria Andreeva and their trip to America and Capri, as well as about Maria Zakrevskaya (Moore), sent by the KGB to spy on the writer. She was his secretary and beloved woman for many years, with whom he lived in Italy for several years, and then, after a long separation, she came to him when he was on his deathbed.
