In the film “Made in the USSR,” an ordinary high school turns into an ordinary model of a totalitarian state. A trivial story involving the mysterious theft of a VCR turns into a grotesque and dark farce when the acting director, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan’s character, terrorizes students and teachers with a calloused dictatorial hand. And now young “patriots” punish their “dissident” peers by joining the ranks of the “pioneer youth”. And an ordinary school laboratory turns into a place of torture.
