1970s Popular film actress Lisa Azimova follows her lover, the famous dissident poet Gromov, to the USA. The woman left her family and a brilliant career in Moscow. A few years later, Gromov died from drunkenness, and Lisa, having never adapted to life in America, returned to her homeland. Fate brought Lisa together with her former classmate Oleg, who is now the general director of a large construction company in Moscow. Oleg has been in love with Lisa since school, but, not achieving reciprocity, he married someone else, Tatyana. They have two adult children: son Ivan, who is graduating from college, and daughter Lena, a high school graduate.
