2003 Catherine and Georges Gautier live in Washington. Katherine works in her small photography studio, Georges teaches at Georgetown University. They look like an ordinary family, but in fact they are agents of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Vera Sviblova and Anton Vyazin. In the United States, they are collecting data on the secret “Zone of Influence” plan to destroy the Russian economy. At first, everything goes well for Georges and Catherine, but soon a “mole” in the ranks of Russian intelligence betrays the spouses, and a real FBI hunt begins for them. Saving their lives, Vera and Anton try to save their marriage. To get the necessary information, Anton needs to commit adultery.
