Nika

As a child, Nika Turbina toured the Soviet Union with her mother, reading her poems: stadiums full of poetry lovers, bohemian parties, meetings with celebrities. An 8-year-old child prodigy, she amazed me with childish sadness and poignant lines... And now Nika is 27. The USSR is no longer there, just as there is no childhood, no glory, and the most difficult thing is no inspiration. Nika no longer writes poetry and is trying to figure out herself: where did that “voice” of hers go, why does she no longer feel her mother’s love, and can she ever be happy like everyone else? Meeting the cheerful and independent Ivan gives Nika hope for this happiness and gives her forgotten inspiration.
