Chris performs poorly at the Olympic decathlon qualifying competitions. In the evening, when all the competitors are relaxing at the bar, she becomes ill, and Tori, a companion on the qualifying team, takes her to her house. They are left alone. During a long conversation, Tori convinces Chris that despite the failure, she should not give up and should continue training.
