The main character of this story is captain-lieutenant - a signalman from God - Vladimir Kozlov. He is an irreplaceable person! Because of his lack of composure, he once managed to embarrass Rear Admiral Lobanov himself during a general formation! He became angry and ordered Kozlov to be fired. Colleagues are panicking! Without Volodya, the local communications center is in complete confusion, and most importantly, the servicemen will have to re-apply documents for apartments and skip the line in which the would-be signalman stood. Friends Maslenikov and Lentsov stand up for Volodya in front of the rear admiral, asking for forgiveness, because their friend’s wedding is “nearby.” Now Volodya urgently needs to find a bride and get married in a week! Lovelace Maslennikov sets out to marry a lonely cleaning lady, Zina, a single mother with two children, to his friend, but unexpectedly he falls in love with her.
