The Engagement Ring

By the will of fate, three very different people find themselves on the train going to Moscow, who are to become the main characters of this 200-episode story. Nineteen-year-old Nastya goes to the capital to help her mother Vera out of trouble. Nastya goes to her father, Academician Kovalev, who, however, does not even suspect the existence of his daughter. As proof of the relationship, Nastya brings Kovalev a ring that he once gave to Vera as a sign of love. Her compartment neighbor Olya, although only a year older than Nastya, has seen much more in life. Tired of provincial life and a provincial married lover, Olya goes to Moscow to snag her big jackpot in the form of a rich husband. She hopes that her ex-girlfriend Dasha, who has become the bride of a wealthy businessman in Moscow, will help her with this. In the same carriage, in a different compartment, is a young talented doctor, Igor Gritsenko. He had just buried his mother in the city of Borsk. Igor goes to Moscow to avenge the death of his parents. In the capital, Igor is met by Zhenya, his former classmate, who has been unrequitedly in love with Igor for many years. Between Nastya and Igor there is a clear attraction to each other. Under other circumstances, the train romance would probably have continued. But now both are preoccupied with their own problems. Nastya: the need to help her mother, Igor - revenge. Meanwhile, Kovalev himself is in the hospital. During a reception in the Kremlin he became ill. Late at night, very late, the train arrives in Moscow. And three passengers get lost in the bustle of thousands of people in Moscow. Here their paths diverge - for the time being...
